We are an independent initiative of a scientific, civic, and socio-environmental nature, focused on the production, systematization, and dissemination of reliable knowledge regarding sustainability, with an explicit vocation for influencing public policy.
What We Are Not
We are not a traditional non-governmental organization, nor a political party, nor a media outlet, nor a think tank funded by corporate interests or global agendas.
Autonomous Space for Reflection
PlanetaSOStenible emerges as an autonomous space for analysis and reflection, grounded in the ecological-scientific knowledge of Nature, within the legal framework of the Social State of Rule of Law, and driven by an ethical vocation oriented toward the common good.
Platform for Thought and Public Debate
The project is structured as a platform for qualified thought and public debate, where scientific propositions and the resulting public policy guidelines are not subordinated to sectoral, ideological, or economic interests. Instead, they are sustained by evidence, conceptual rigor, and systemic coherence.
Our Position on Sustainability
PlanetaSOStenible.info recognizes and disseminates the fact that sustainability is not a destination, but a process of continuous adaptation of human activities to the limits and cycles of the biosphere. Therefore, our commitment is to provide information and analysis that allow for the evaluation of the viability of current development models, without renouncing conceptual independence or ethical responsibility.
Integration of Science, Law, and Society
From this perspective, PlanetaSOStenible.info promotes the integration of science, law, and society, facilitating dialogue between academia, communities, environmental authorities, local government entities, and the various branches of public power, without renouncing conceptual independence or ethical responsibility.
Territorial Scope and Vocation of the Project
The initiative carries out its actions in the Republic of Colombia, addressing—through method and knowledge—the ecological, social, and cultural diversity of the country, as well as the specific challenges it faces in environmental, territorial, and political matters.
Its conceptual and methodological framework, however, has a universal vocation, as its actions are based on scientifically observable principles derived from the functioning of natural systems, the recognition of human dignity—which confers equal rights to all human beings—and the prevalence of the general interest expressed as a constitutional precept of the Social State of Rule of Law.
Project Orientation
In synthesis, we seek to make PlanetaSOStenible.info a project oriented toward social transformation, promoting the formation of judgment based on access to contrastable information by strengthening public debate and formulating public policies coherent with ecological limits, human dignity, and the common good.
